ROB EDGE has been a practising Physiotherapist working in the management of musculoskeletal problems and sports injuries for over 10 years.

He is currently also working as a Department Lead Physiotherapist in a busy Out-Patient department in the NHS. From here he provides teaching, training and supervision for fellow staff as well as mentoring University Physiotherapy students.

Physiotherapists are governed by the Health Professions council. The council has a code of conduct that requires Physiotherapists to continuously update and maintain their professional skills to ensure patient safety and excellent standards of practice. We are members of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy which is the professional, educational and trade union body for the country's 47,000 chartered physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and assistants. It aims to support its members and help them to provide the highest standards of patient care. To become a member you must complete a recognised degree course. The CSP also provide us with insurance.

We are members of Physio First which is the trading name of the Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice and was formed in 1952. It is an Occupational Group of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and as such is formally recognised by the Council of the Chartered Society as representing the interests of its self-employed members. Physio First has approximately 4000 members and uses the trading name 'Physio First'. Members are able to use the PhysioFirst branding in all of their marketing material to show that they belong to a national professional group.

We are also members of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. This is a sprecial interest group which governs the use of Acupuncture within Physiotherapy. Choosing a Physiotherapist who is a member of the AACP will ensure that they maintain their Acupuncture skills to a high clinical standard.
